With anything else you do in life, it is important to understand the intent behind the chosen actions. Here at Inspirit School of Healing Arts, we have a vision to guide our students to speak, feel, and move with intention while spreading compassion to the community. How Do You Tattoo Intentionally?

Figure out the “why” behind tattooing. Here are some questions that may help you:

• Does it light up a fire within your soul? (Feelings of excitement)
• Does the thought of tattooing empower you?
• Is this path going to bring you the most personal growth?
• Do you feel like you want to take the next step to test your creativity?
• Are you wanting to tattoo for the money?

There are a number of questions that can create a pathway for you to explore your very true intentions of getting into the tattoo industry. After figuring out the “why,” it’s time to take action towards your vision. Knowing your purpose is similar to having the destination. However, it is the journey of how you get to that destination that will matter. Will you need to go on a walk, a car ride, or take a plane? Each person’s answer varies on the intention.

The How

For instance, Raven and Lucky had an intention of creating a tattoo program that will give aspiring artists an option of obtaining their tattoo license in a comprehensive 200-hour course. The traditional option is through an apprenticeship, which may take up to years to get the license depending on your mentor. Raven and Lucky ran with this intention and created a tattoo school in Orlando, FL also known as Inspirit Tattoo School. With hard work and persistence, they were able to get approved by the Florida Department of Education to teach the techniques and philosophies that are needed to practice the art of tattooing with a deeper compassion while meeting and exceeding the safety and quality standards. Because they knew what their intention was from the beginning, Raven and Lucky were able to build off of it. Ultimately, the how is always figuring out the next step and staying true to the purpose of why you are doing the work.
